Who is Farrah
No ivory tower theories, just real world experience from real rooms.
I work with CHROs and their leadership teams when the human side of the business is costing more than it should. I work with high-performing ones who are stuck below their ceiling. The talent is clearly there. Something else is in the way.
I am a former Bain strategy consultant and People executive. I spent over a decade inside hyper-growth organisations, at the table where those hard decisions get made, before I ever coached a single person. I know what those conversations cost when they do not happen. And I know how to get someone from dreading them to handling them well. The work I do addresses both what is holding them back internally and the practical skills they need to execute. Once that happens, people can actually do the thing not just feel better about it.
My motivation for coaching isn't abstract. I went through this work myself. My own patterns, the fear, the perfectionism, the need to make everyone comfortable were running my life for years while I was performing at the highest level. Coaching changed everything. That is what I bring into every room.

Questions I get asked
What does Farrah Mitra specialise in?
My clients leave with clear frameworks and measurable results not just insight. The average likelihood to recommend my work is 4.8 out of 5 across 355 participants, with 95% giving a 5 or 4.More importantly, leaders report using the frameworks independently after coaching ends. One client's team came to her far fewer times for support after the programme because her leaders had the tools to handle hard conversations themselves. That is the difference between coaching that feels good and coaching that changes behaviour.
Who does Farrah Mitra work with?
Farrah works primarily with CHROs, HR leaders, and senior leaders at Fortune 10 companies, hyper-growth startups, and global nonprofits. Her clients have included leaders at Google, Indeed, Accion, Medallia, and Alto Pharmacy. She works with individual leaders in 1:1 coaching engagements and with leadership teams through workshops and facilitation programmes.
What is the Green Reed philosophy?
Green Reed is named after a Persian proverb: the reed that bends in the wind survives the storm; the oak that stands rigid snaps.Farrah founded the practice in 2018 on one conviction: sustainable leadership comes from examining the internal operating system, not just changing external behaviour. Her coaching goes to the root of what drives avoidance, perfectionism, and burnout and rewrites it. The name is the philosophy, not just a brand.
How is Farrah Mitra different from other executive coaches?
Most executive coaches understand leadership in theory.Farrah understands it because she has operated at that level herself Bain, then senior People executive roles at two hyper-growth tech companies before she ever coached a single person. She also speaks from personal experience of the mindset blocks she now helps leaders resolve: perfectionism, people pleasing, imposter syndrome, burnout. She is not advising from the outside. She has been inside the same rooms. And critically, her work addresses both the internal mindset shift and the practical skills not one or the other.
How does Farrah Mitra's coaching process work?
Farrah's coaching combines mindset work with practical, repeatable frameworks, so leaders leave every session with both a shift in how they think and a clear process for what to do next. The work starts by identifying the internal beliefs and patterns driving avoidance, burnout, or perfectionism not to dwell on them, but to update them at the root. Then it builds the specific skillset: how to structure hard conversations, how to communicate under pressure, how to lead through change without carrying it alone. Sessions are direct and structured. Farrah advises, she does not just ask questions. Clients describe the work as the most practical coaching they have experienced.
What results can CHROs expect from working with Farrah Mitra?
Leaders who work with Farrah consistently report moving from dread and avoidance to clarity and confidence not just in one conversation, but as a sustained change in how they lead.Across 355 participants, Farrah's programmes average a 4.8 out of 5 likelihood to recommend, with 95% giving 4s or 5s. CHROs report that their leaders handle hard conversations more directly, carry less of the emotional weight of leadership, and require less hand-holding through difficult moments. The change holds, it does not reset after the engagement ends. That is the measurable difference between addressing surface behaviour and addressing the internal operating system underneath it.
